Legal documents are written to protect the party that wrote them, not the one reading them. Klaro exists to change that imbalance.

What Is Klaro?

Klaro is an AI-powered web application built for the African market. It takes legal documents — contracts, lease agreements, terms of service, NDAs — and explains them in plain, everyday language. The goal is to give ordinary people the ability to understand what they are signing before they sign it.

The Problem It Solves

In many African countries, signing contracts without fully understanding the terms is common, not because people are careless, but because legal language is deliberately complex. Klaro bridges that gap by acting as an accessible first layer of legal understanding.

How It Works

Upload or paste your document into Klaro. The AI reads through it and produces a summary that highlights the key terms, obligations, unusual clauses, and anything that stands out as potentially unfavorable. It does not replace a lawyer for complex situations, but it gives you the context to ask better questions and make informed decisions.

What Makes It Different

Most legal document tools are built for Western markets with Western legal frameworks. Klaro is built with African legal contexts in mind, which means the explanations are more relevant to the kinds of documents people encounter in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, and similar markets.

Who Should Use It

Anyone who regularly encounters contracts in their work or personal life — freelancers reviewing client agreements, renters reading lease terms, employees going through employment contracts, or business owners checking supplier agreements.

Access

Klaro is available as a web app at klaro-africa.netlify.app. No installation needed. Works directly in your browser on both mobile and desktop.
